Amazing Shows

I am hooked on these two shows lately. One is called Iconoclasts and is on the Sundance Channel. I was turned onto it by my Aunt and Uncle in Atlanta. The same Aunt and Uncle that turned me onto the Week Magazine. I watched my first episode of it when I was out visiting them in October last year.

The other is called Carrier on PBS. It is a great show I heard some people talking about at work.

The concept behind Iconoclasts is great. The bring together two celebrities who you would never have known had an influential relationship with each other, and they interview each of them about the other and then the two celebrities get together for an informal interview/discussion about nothing in particular. For example, in one episode they bring together Fiona Apple and Quentin Tarantino. In another episode, they bring together Paul Simon and Lorne Michaels. Pretty random, but also very awesome.

Carrier, on the other hand, is a reality show about life on a US Navy Aircraft Carrier. More than anything, they are showcasing some of the unique individuals on the ship and some of the unique circumstances they find themselves in. What is even more interesting to me about this show is the type of people that seem to end up in military service. They all tend to have pretty radical backgrounds and life stories that have led them to where they are. Those individual stories really hooked me on this show. Anyway, I totally recommend these shows. Check them out.
