I had the opportunity to watch each interview in their entirety, and I have to say, the interviews left me totally conflicted. Let me explain.
First, so you all know, I would identify myself as socially moderate and economically/fiscally conservative. Unfortunately that leaves me trying to fit a square peg in round holes, as I don't clearly align with any one political party.

John McCain: Black and White
Barack Obama: Grey
What I mean by this is that for John McCain, the issues are largely Black and White. You know his stance, and he in firm in that. You know his policy of abortion, gay rights, etc. There is no grey. There are really no circumstances in which he would be willing to be flexible in his policy.
With Obama on the other hand, the issues are largely grey. You are never entirely sure where he stands with his policy on abortion, gay rights, etc. In general, his policies are largely flexible. I would characterize him as a "people over policy" candidate, in that he is concerened with the circumstances surrounding an issue rather than setting a hardline policy on the issue.
So which is better? What does America need in a leader? I am still trying to figure out what I think is better. If I went down the line issue by issue, I would probably agree with McCain more often than Obama. But I can also relate to Obama more in that he seems to be a hopeless idealist. I think people are more important than policy, and that the circumstances surrounding the key issues don't always lend themselves to a black and white response.
What do you think is better? What does America need in a leader? Black and White, or Grey?

people + grey + no war = hope/obama
In my opinion I think this country needs a little gray. We have just spent the past eight years with a presidents who's attitude is my way or the highway. Those of us who are fortunate enough to live in California aren't feeling the pinch as much as those living in small rural towns that rely on factories to feed them or where natural disaster has taken away every thing in a blink of an eye. I also think a leader of any nation has no right to tell a woman what she should and shouldn't do with her body and it's really no one's business what others do behind closed doors, no matter what their sex is. I want a leader who can handle foregin affairs and bring work back to the United States. One day my children will live here too and I hope that they will be able to experience all of the freedoms I have been able to experience. I think John McCain is too old fashion. His time has come and gone and he doesn't really get what younger generations need. He won't even be around for them! I am really pulling for Obama and it's looking better and better every day with each bone head move McCain continues to make. Did he really think making a woman who has no experience his VP would get Hillary supporters.
dude, if mccain is elected, there is no hope for the future, and while barack is far too conservative for my liking, at least he has some people riled up about positive change. If you look at the supporters, most barack supports are for making the world a better place while most mccain supporters are about putting their personal beliefs and judgments onto other people. i know that is a broad generalization , but it is one that i find generally true.
